Anthony Shallal

Anthony Shallal focuses his practice on business and real estate transactions, licensing, and land use matters for owners and operators across Michigan. He represents clients in on-premises liquor licensing for restaurants and hotels and off-premises beer, wine, and liquor licensing for convenience stores, gas stations, liquor stores, grocery stores, and specialty markets. He also handles appeals in MLCC-related matters to the Circuit Court and the Michigan Court of Appeals.

Anthony also handles commercial and investment real estate purchases and sales, including seller-financed transactions, and regularly guides clients through planning and zoning applications and other municipal approval processes.
Anthony leads the firm’s specialty licensing practice, advising breweries, wineries, distilleries, and tobacco businesses on manufacturing and wholesaling matters involving the TTB, Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC), the Michigan Department of Treasury, and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services cigar lounge and hookah lounge exemption licensing. A core part of Anthony’s practice involves advising cannabis operators and startups on CRA licensing, cannabis-related real estate strategy, and local approvals. Anthony is responsible for winning multiple competitive cannabis licensing bids for his clients in various municipalities.

Anthony is a current member of the West Bloomfield Zoning Board of Appeals. He earned his J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law (cum laude, 2020) and his undergraduate degree in History from Oakland University.
